(AMBI 612) End of Life Ethics, Law and Policy: This course addresses ethical issues related to end of life care including the definition of brain death, decision-making capacity, do-not-resuscitate orders, patient privacy and confidentiality, and end of life issues with special populations including children and the mentally ill. The course also addresses the role of the ethics committee in resolving ethical questions in these situations and a number of the court cases that have set precedents in these areas.
